Our brand new choir in Otley is ready to welcome its very first members, bringing Local Vocals to the town for the first time.
Led by choir leader Ben, this is your chance to get involved right from the beginning and help us build a brilliant new singing community in Otley.
Local Vocals is for everyone… We believe as many people as possible should experience the joy of singing, regardless of age or ability.

Meet Ben, the friendly face behind Otley’s Local Vocals!
A multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and music educator, Ben has spent years performing, leading bands and teaching music across Yorkshire.
For Ben, music is all about connection. He loves bringing people together, building confidence and creating a space where everyone can switch off, have fun and enjoy making music together.
He also teaches Tai Chi, Qigong and breathwork, so creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere comes naturally!
No pressure. No auditions.
Just great songs, great people, and a brilliant atmosphere.

There's onsite parking and you don't need to bring anything with you on the day (other than a bottle of water - singing for 90 minutes can be thirsty work!)
You'll be greeted by your choir leader Ben, and friendly faces who will welcome you into the session.
No auditions, no singing alone, just feel-good singing together.
What happens at a
Local Vocals Otley session?
Every week, we come together for 90 minutes of singing, laughter and connection.
A typical session includes:
• A warm welcome and time to settle in
• Simple vocal warm ups to get everyone comfortable
• Learning uplifting songs in easy to follow harmony parts
• Singing together with no pressure to perform alone
• Plenty of encouragement, support and a good laugh
No need to read music, just come along and enjoy it.
After the rehearsal, you can log onto the online Members' Area to access your lyrics, harmony tracks and extra resources so you can practise at home if you want to, as well as signing up to sing at local and regional events.
Local Vocals is about so much more than singing. It is a chance to step away from the rush of the week, enjoy a relaxed evening, have a laugh and spend time with a wonderful community of local people.
Many of our members join because they love singing, but stay because of the friendships, confidence and sense of belonging that grows week by week.
New to the area, looking to meet people or wanting something for yourself after work? Our Otley choir is a brilliant place to connect, unwind and do something uplifting each week.

We’re getting ready to open the doors to our very first rehearsal, and we’d love you to be there from the start.
Expect brilliant songs, plenty of laughs and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere where you can switch off from the day and simply enjoy singing.
Our rehearsals are relaxed, uplifting and full of great music, with plenty of opportunities to meet new people and become part of something special as the choir grows.
No auditions & no musical experience required
If you love music and love to sing along to the radio, you will love Local Vocals!
We don’t read music and there are no auditions so our rehearsals are a safe space for you to simply enjoy singing together. You never have to sing alone and you will be surrounded by like-minded people who are there to give you the confidence you need.
Support local charities
The ethos of our choir centres around supporting our local communities through the joy of singing! So far, we have supported several local charities including North West Cancer Research, Derian House, East Lancashire Hospice and Lancashire Mind and we regularly perform and collaborate with local charities to fundraise in a fun and unique way!
