Meeting every Wednesday evening at Padiham Town Hall Ballroom, our Burnley choir is a friendly and welcoming community brought together by a shared love of singing. Many of our members arrive early for a brew, a piece of cake and a good catch up before rehearsal begins, making it just as much about connection and community as it is about the singing.
Led by local choir leader George Harry Jones, this choir is perfect for anyone looking to build confidence, try something new and become part of a supportive local community.

George brings energy, encouragement, and a real love of music to every session.
With a background in music, performance, and teaching, George brings both experience and enthusiasm to every rehearsal.
He’s all about making singing feel fun, relaxed, and accessible, helping people build confidence while enjoying great music together.
Whether you’re a confident singer or a complete beginner, he’ll have you laughing, learning, and singing your heart out in no time.

There is parking on site and you don't need to bring anything with you on the day (other than a bottle of water - singing for 90 minutes can be thirsty work!) You'll be greeted by your choir leader George, and friendly faces who will welcome you into the session - no auditions, no singing alone, just feel-good singing together.

Hosted weekly during term time at Padiham Town Hall Ballroom, nestled in the town of Padiham, our Burnley community gathers every Wednesday, 7 pm - 8:30 pm.
With naturally amazing acoustics due to spectacular high ceilings, the space is the perfect place to express ourselves and belt it out loud and proud! The venue is fully accessible with plenty of parking on site.
No auditions & no musical experience required
If you love music and love to sing along to the radio, you will love Local Vocals!
We don’t read music and there are no auditions so our rehearsals are a safe space for you to simply enjoy singing together. You never have to sing alone and you will be surrounded by like-minded people who are there to give you the confidence you need.
Support local charities
The ethos of our choir centres around supporting our local communities through the joy of singing. So far, we’ve supported a wide range of local charities and community organisations including Derian House Children’s Hospice, East Lancashire Hospice, Lancashire Mind, Crossroads Care East Lancashire, North West Cancer Research, Burnley Youth Theatre, The Hub and Nightsafe, alongside many other brilliant local causes.
We regularly perform and collaborate with charities and community groups to raise funds in fun, creative and meaningful ways.

Burnley’s Local Vocals is about so much more than singing. It’s a chance to step away from the rush of the week, switch off for an evening, have a laugh and spend time with a wonderful community of local people.

What happens at a
Local Vocals Burnley session?
Every Wednesday evening, we come together for 90 minutes of singing, laughter and connection.
A typical session includes:
• Time before rehearsal to grab a brew, enjoy some cake and catch up with friends, with lots of members arriving early for a chat and a social
• A warm welcome and time to settle in
• Simple vocal warm ups to get everyone comfortable
• Learning uplifting songs in easy to follow harmony parts
• Singing together with no pressure to perform alone
• Plenty of encouragement, support and a good laugh
No need to read music, just come along and enjoy it.
After rehearsal, members can access the online Members’ Area for lyrics, harmony tracks and extra resources to practise at home, as well as signing up to perform at local and regional events.
