Meeting every Monday morning at Midge Hall Methodist Church in Leyland, our choir is a fabulous community brought together by a shared love of singing.
Led by choir leader Jen Addison-Jones, you’ll make new friends, discover a new hobby and build your confidence while finding your voice.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced vocalist, we believe singing is for everyone.

Meet Jen Addison-Jones, the friendly face behind Leyland’s Local Vocals!
With a degree in Music from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and a background in performing, teaching and gigging, Jen brings enthusiasm, encouragement and a genuine love of music to every rehearsal.
She’s passionate about creating a fun, welcoming environment where everyone feels supported, builds confidence and experiences the joy of singing together.
Whether you’re a seasoned singer or a complete newbie, Jen will make you feel right at home from your very first rehearsal.
No pressure. No auditions.
Just great songs, great people, and a brilliant atmosphere.

There is parking on site and you don't need to bring anything with you on the day (other than a bottle of water - singing for 90 minutes can be thirsty work!)
You'll be greeted by your choir leader Jen, and friendly faces who will welcome you into the session - no auditions, no singing alone, just feel-good singing together.
Leyland's Local Vocals is about so much more than singing. It’s a place to get out of the house, enjoy a proper brew, have a laugh, meet people from your local area and feel part of something positive each week.
Many of our members join because they love singing, but they stay because of the friendships, the confidence and the feeling of belonging.
Whether you’ve recently moved to the area, retired, had a change in routine, or simply want to do something uplifting for yourself, our Leyland choir is a brilliant way to connect with like-minded people. You're more than welcome to come on your own. In fact, lots of people do. We’ll make sure you’re looked after!

What happens at a
Local Vocals
Leyland session?
Every Monday morning, we come together for 90 minutes of singing, laughter and connection.
A typical session includes:
• A warm welcome and time to settle in
• Simple vocal warm ups to get everyone comfortable
• Learning uplifting songs in easy to follow harmony parts
• Singing together with no pressure to perform alone
• Plenty of encouragement, support and a good laugh
No need to read music, just come along and enjoy it.
After the rehearsal, you can log onto the online Members' Area to access your lyrics, harmony tracks and extra resources so you can practise at home if you want to, as well as signing up to sing at local and regional events.

Our community choir in Leyland is a lovely group of local people who enjoy getting together each week to sing, make new friends and have fun. It’s a chance to build your confidence, learn great songs and take some time out for yourself.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced singer, you’ll be welcomed with open arms. Our rehearsals are relaxed, enjoyable and full of encouragement, so everyone can sing, laugh and feel part of the group.

No auditions & no musical experience required
If you love music and love to sing along to the radio, you will love Local Vocals!
We don’t read music and there are no auditions so our rehearsals are a safe space for you to simply enjoy singing together. You never have to sing alone and you will be surrounded by like-minded people who are there to give you the confidence you need.
Support local charities
The ethos of our choir centres around supporting our local communities through the joy of singing! So far, we have supported several local charities including Derian House, East Lancashire Hospice and Lancashire Mind and we regularly perform and collaborate with local charities to fundraise in a fun and unique way.
