Meeting every Tuesday morning at St Teresa’s Church Hall in Cleveleys, our choir is a friendly and welcoming community brought together by a shared love of singing. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, build confidence or simply do something for yourself each week, you’ll find a warm and supportive atmosphere from the moment you arrive.
Led by experienced choir leader John Wright, this choir is perfect for anyone looking to try something new and become part of a fantastic local community.
Perfect for anyone who’s spent years saying they “can’t sing” because we believe everybody can and SHOULD sing. No previous singing experience is required. No auditions, just great music and great people.

Meet John Wright, the friendly face behind Cleveleys' Local Vocals!
With a background in performance, composition and music education, John brings experience, warmth and encouragement to every rehearsal.
He’s passionate about making singing enjoyable, relaxed and accessible, helping people build confidence while bringing people together through music.
Whether you’re an experienced singer or a complete beginner, John will have you feeling welcome, singing with confidence and enjoying every session in no time.

There is parking on site and you don't need to bring anything with you on the day (other than a bottle of water - singing for 90 minutes can be thirsty work!) You'll be greeted by your choir leader John, and friendly faces who will welcome you into the session - no auditions, no singing alone, just feel-good singing together.

No auditions & no musical experience required
If you love music and love to sing along to the radio, you will love Local Vocals!
We don’t read music and there are no auditions so our rehearsals are a safe space for you to simply enjoy singing together. You never have to sing alone and you will be surrounded by like-minded people who are there to give you the confidence you need.
Support local charities
The ethos of our choir centres around supporting our local communities through the joy of singing! So far, we have supported several local charities including Derian House, East Lancashire Hospice and Lancashire Mind and we regularly perform and collaborate with local charities to fundraise in a fun and unique way.

Cleveleys' Local Vocals is about so much more than singing. It’s a place to get out of the house, enjoy a proper brew, have a laugh, meet people from your local area and feel part of something positive each week.
Many of our members join because they love singing, but they stay because of the friendships, the confidence and the feeling of belonging.
Whether you’ve recently moved to the area, retired, had a change in routine, or simply want to do something uplifting for yourself, our Cleveleys' choir is a brilliant way to connect with like-minded people. You're more than welcome to come on your own. In fact, lots of people do. We’ll make sure you’re looked after!

What happens at a
Local Vocals
Cleveleys session?
Every Tuesday morning, we come together for 90 minutes of singing, laughter and connection.
A typical session includes:
• A warm welcome and time to settle in
• Simple vocal warm ups to get everyone comfortable
• Learning uplifting songs in easy to follow harmony parts
• Singing together with no pressure to perform alone
• Plenty of encouragement, support and a good laugh
No need to read music, just come along and enjoy it.
After the rehearsal, you can log onto the online Members' Area to access your lyrics, harmony tracks and extra resources so you can practise at home if you want to, as well as signing up to sing at local and regional events.
