One Billion Rising event @ UCLAN

Venue details and parking:                              There is free parking all over the Campus for members of choir. The Victoria car park next to 53* venue is about 5 mins walk away. Event: One Billion Rising. This is to raise awareness of Violence towards women worldwide. On the day, between 12 noon and 2pm, participants will learn, perform and dance to a track called ‘Break the Chain’. The event is recorded on video and uploaded to the One Billion Rising website on Feb 14th 2026, with other videos all over the world. Choir members are welcome to take part in the entire event,  joining the dance practise or just go along for the performance. Snacks provided!

Uniform:  Local Vocals top Arrival time:  Be ready to sing at 1pm (after the mayor's speech)

Gig etiquette:  1.) On arrival, please group in your voice parts and wait for instructions on lining up  2.) Once we have lined up and are ready to start, please refrain from talking for the duration of the performance, unless directed otherwise  3.) Please do not use your phone or lyric sheets during performances             4.) Choir members do not need to be grouped in height order necessarily but it is important that those on the front row know all of the words and remember to smile! Mixing up the front row should be encouraged  5.) If you don't have LV uniform, please wear a plain black top                          6.) Smile and enjoy performing as a community!!
